We support small-scale laboratory exchanges to jump-start new collaborations!
Mini-Sabbaticals
The NeuronS_MATTR Network will fund faculty principal investigators, and/or trainees, to engage in residencies in a collaborator's laboratory. The goal is to acquire new technical skills, or to perform a focused set of interdisciplinary experiments that could not be accomplished at the awardee's home institution. Mini-sabbaticals will typically last from 1-8 weeks. Funding will be nominally capped at $3,000 per award, and 1-5 awards are expected annually. Higher amounts will be considered only upon inquiry of the network. Proposed activities should contribute to our network's mission by enhancing the visibility of the network’s research areas and by providing professional opportunities to individuals who strengthen the scientific research workforce. Projects that span the network's four core disciplines (i.e., neuroscience, physiology, engineering, and manual therapy/clinical sciences) will be prioritized.
